The Ghella Abergeldie Joint Venture is searching for an Electrical Supervisor to join the TBM team on the Central Interceptor Project.

As an Electrical Supervisor you will lead a team of Electricians and undertake installation, maintenance of electrical equipment on the TBM as well as ensuring a quick turnaround of breakdowns in order to minimise downtime of the TBM and related electrician components on the Central Interceptor Project.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead a team of Electricians in the execution of all electrical installation works
  • Coordinate activities by planning and developing work schedules, setting priorities and directing and monitoring the work of the electrical team
  • Installation and maintenance of HV/LV plant as well as the TBM
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, device and components, identify the root cause of breakdown and perform repairs 
  • Organise and perform scheduled maintenance
  • Manage the hours, equipment and tools of the team ensuring the workshop is tidy and organised
  • Ensure communication/information/reports are done daily and passed onto the supervisor for shift handovers
  • Work collaboratively with Engineers, Mechanics and the wider construction team
  • Carry out routine tests on electrical equipment and complete required checklists
  • Check and verify incoming plant are safe and fit for purpose
  • Ensure accurate documentation are kept for all electrical maintenance works

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as an Electrician
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Trade certification or hold an electrical engineering L4 qualification
  • Sound experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of all electrical system equipment and fault finding using PLC ideal
  • Experience working on heavy civil infrastructure projects
  • You will hold a full EWRB Electrical license with Mining Endorsement
  • Good approach to team work, communication and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, determine priorities, whilst being safety conscious
  • Construct Safe ideal but not essential
  • Flexibility to work shifts

The Central Interceptor is New Zealand's largest ever Wastewater Project consisting of close to 20km of tunnels, more than 17 shafts, a major pump station and substantial wastewater management and network infrastructure works.
